Hi, my name is Guy Harris. I often introduce myself as a recovering engineer because I started my professional career in that world. I completed both a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering, and I served as a nuclear trained submarine officer in the US Navy.
As my career progressed through various leadership roles, I began to realize that my biggest problems were with people and not with equipment. So, I started to study and apply “people skills” to get better at my job. I eventually grew to love the study and application of leadership, communication, and conflict resolution principles. Over time, I completed certifications in Human Behavior Consulting and Conflict Resolution.
I now coach and advise business leaders and their teams in a number of industries.
I own Principle Driven Consulting. My personal training specialty is conflict resolution in a team setting. I work with teams in nearly every market segment – business, ministry, government, education, and family. I specialize in helping teams resolve conflicts so that they can get better results. I speak, train, write, consult, and coach leaders and teams on issues related to building strong, high-performing teams.
In addition to owning my own businesses, I work with The Kevin Eikenberry Group as a trainer and executive coach..
You can find what I have written here:
This is my main blog, and it is about learning to get out of your own way. It is about learning to take a close look at your thoughts, feelings, responses, and reactions to find better and more effective ways to build and maintain relationships.
I write from the perspective of a person who does not, by nature, enjoy interacting with people, and who has chosen to constantly work on developing the skills necessary to connect, communicate, live, and work effectively with others.
This site contains articles focused on leadership topics, hiring and firing, team building, performance management, and other related topics for business owners and leaders.
Resolving Conflict in Teams Blog
Where I started my efforts at blogging. In this blog, I shared insights, tips, techniques and concepts for resolving conflicts in a team environment. (I suggest that families and churches would fit in this definition.) I stopped actively blogging at this site in January of 2010.
Thanks for stopping by my page. If I can help in any way, please let me know.
Have a great day.
